Are All Dragons Bad?

Do Good Dragons Exist?

I feel like if I needed someone or something to defend me in battle, and someone told me to choose a being to fight on my behalf, I would choose a fire breathing dragon. In Revelation 1:14, John the Revelator describes Jesus as having eyes that are like “flames of fire”. In Revelation 11, the two witnesses are actually given power from God to burn their enemies alive by pouring fire out of their mouths. Job 41 describes the dark energy of Leviathan as having flames coming out of its mouth and having smoke pouring from its nostrils. I think these verses indicate that good and bad dragons both exist.

What is a dragon?

Dragons are creatures often depicted as large, serpentine beings with the ability to fly and breathe fire. The concept of dragons can be traced back to ancient cultures around the world, including the Bible. In European folklore, dragons are typically portrayed as fearsome beasts hoarding treasure, while in Eastern traditions, they are revered as symbols of power, wisdom, and benevolence. I personally believe that the Bible was the first book to reference dragons. “This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels” (Revelation 12:9). Overall, dragons have woven themselves into the fabric of human imagination, representing both the beauty and terror of the unknown.

Should we care about dragons, and do they matter?

If dragons are in the Bible, we should care about them. The Bible doesn’t mention things unless they matter. Dragons matter.

Do good dragons exist?

Demon were once angels. If evil dragons exist, then good dragons also exist. Good existed first, and without good, you cannot have evil.
